It began with a sister's promise. In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became the Susan G. Komen® organization and the beginning of a global movement. Over 30 years later, the power of this grass roots breast cancer movement continues to grow through the efforts of people like you. Breast cancer survivors, activists, friends and families all join together to care for patients, save lives, focus on healing care and support important scientific research.
